Day 1: Arrive in Rovaniemi, Finland

• You’ll meet for a briefing, enjoy a welcome drink and immediately start Northern Lights hunting, weather permitting. After scanning the skies, you’ll be entertained by locals during a special welcome dinner hosted in Santa’s village before nestling down for the night at the Scandic Rovaniemi City hotel.

Day 2: Rovaniemi

• A variety of adventures await you in Rovaniemi. You’ll have the morning to explore the city on your own. After lunch, you will visit a traditional reindeer farm village and hang out with the reindeer before embarking on a magical sleigh ride. In the evening, you’ll head out again for another Northern Lights safari – this one with a BBQ. Spend your second night at the Scandic Rovaniemi City.

Day 3: Rovaniemi to Kiruna

• After a leisurely breakfast, you’ll board the bus and will soon be crossing the Swedish border and gliding through the winter wonderland. You’ll arrive in Kiruna around lunchtime. You’ll visit an underground iron ore mine upon arrival before heading to the Ice Hotel for drinks, followed by a Northern Lights safari. Optional: Stay over at the Ice Hotel.

Day 4: Kiruna, Narvik to the Lofoten Islands

• Begin the morning bright and early by hopping on the train for a 2.5 hour journey through the spectacular landscape, and cross the Norwegian border before arriving in Narvik. You’ll have a private visit to the the Narvik War Museum before hopping on your bus bound for the Lofoten Islands. You’ll see the landscape change from mountainous plains to oceans, mountains, and deep fjords. You’ll arrive at Svolvaer, the capital of the Lofoten Islands, in the late afternoon. You’ll enjoy a hearty and traditional fish dinner upon arrival, and retire to your hotel room at the Scandic Svolvaer.

Day 6: Svolvaer to Tromso

• The morning in Svolvaer is your own. After lunch, you’ll step aboard a traditional fishing boat and try your luck. After dinner, you’ll board the famous coastal ship, Hurtigruten, where you’ll overnight on the journey to Tromso. Optional: Flight if journey by ship is not preferred.

Day 7: Tromso

• Your ship will call at towns like Harstad and Finnsnes before arriving at Tromso in the afternoon. The stops are brief, but you’ll be free to walk around on your own.

Day 8: Tromso

• Enjoy an action-packed day that includes a trip up the famous Fjellheisen cable car, a visit to the polar museum, and a private tour of the Northern Norwegian Science Museum. In the evening, you’ll board the ship for a final Northern Lights safari. As the ship follows the weather away from all light pollution, the stars and lights will appear brighter and even more spectacular. After arriving back in Tromso, you’ll enjoy a final dinner with the group.

Day 9: Farewell, and journey home

• You’ll enjoy a last leisurely breakfast before the tour concludes and you begin your journey back home.
